Molekula is a leading chemical supplier offering research chemicals and biochemicals from sales locations worldwide, sourced from international production sites across the world. Molekula was founded in 1999 as a trading company operating from a rented facility in Lyon supplying both bulk chemicals and fine chemicals to customers in France.
Operations in the UK were established in 2000, first to serve the British market and then later as Molekula's operating headquarters. During this period Molekula started to hold inventory and package products into smaller units for resale to the Research market. The first catalogue listing of 500 products in research units was distributed in 2001.
Molekula commenced operations in Germany with the establishment of Molekula GmbH in 2002 to service the German and surrounding markets directly. Healthy growth patterns continued.
During this time improvements in Electronic Data Processing (EDP) and Computing & Database Technologies (CDT) were put in place to support Purchasing, Goods Receipt, and Distribution Information. Technical Data, Certificates of Analysis and MSDS programs were initiated to build the Molekula Technical database.
Continuing growth facilitated distribution of Molekula's 2005 catalogue with an expanded product range totalling now more than 3000 products.
Molekula works closely with worldwide chemical database companies, including MDL Elsevier, Chemical Information Services, Chemexper, Chembuyer's Guide and the first Store-On-Line with Chemfindit UK.
Molekula now has its UK production sites established and the 2008-09 catalogue offered an ex-stock listing of over 6,500 products.
Vigorous sales expansion driven by customer demand has led Molekula to establish partners in many European and Middle East countries, while joint ventures in the Far East are enabling us both to increase our production capacity and further expand our product range.
